Under Mrs. Jo Kalat’s study guidance, Ms. Catherine earned her teacher’s while she was pregnant with her second child. Her students go through medal testing under the BATD guidelines just as she did during her young years of dancing.

ScotDance USA is the successor of The Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators [FUSTA], which was founded in 1980. The founders of FUSTA were pioneers of their time with their creation of a community system and resource center for Highland dance teachers and judges in the US.

Safe Sport Act

The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 codified the U.S. Center for SafeSport, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, as the nation’s safe sport organization. It gave us the scope and authority to resolve abuse and misconduct reports for more than 11 million individuals throughout the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement—from whom we are fully independent.
